About

Who is Tekton Timber Framing.

Owner and lead carpenter Joshua Priest.

“As a young boy, I had a fascination in building things, which further developed when I started working with my stepdad. This opened the doorway into my career as a Carpenter and ultimately as a Traditional Timber Framer. With over a decade of experience in the construction industry and study of the craft, I feel well equipped for the services that I offer.”

The ethos of Tekton

We believe that homes should be built to last generations, with their design, layout, surroundings and environmental impact considered. To achieve this, we use green oak as the structural element of a building, as it allows for the building envelope to evolve with technology without the need to demolish a building.

All our frames are preciously marked out individually, for each timber in a green oak frame is unique in the nominal measurements and shape. By doing this we can produce a building within a +/- 2mm tolerance overall from its critical points. This provides accuracy and a build quality that should last for centuries. We take great pride in the finer details of our work.
